CONGRATULATIONS to the following swimmers who attended 2012 Region VIII Spring Speedo Championships. We have a very young group of athletes and the future looks very bright for these swimmers. Summer Baldwin, Carter Deras, Katie Hollenbeck, Jacob Malashock, Hannah Robison, and Evan White.

Summer Baldwin participated in the 100 back and achieved a new best time –0.96, she also entered the 200 back stroke and made the sectional cut with a new best time dropping –0.76. Summer also time trialed the 100 free dropping -1.55 seconds and the 50 free dropping –0.93.

Carter Deras participated in the 50 free just missing his best time by –0.13. Carter also time trialed the 100 backstroke and achieved a new best time dropping –1.08 seconds.

Kathryn Hollenbeck attended Sectionals for the first time. Katie just missed the cut at Metro’s and attempted to make the cut long course, she gained great experience that will help her prepare for making the cut this summer.

Jacob Malashock also a first timer at the Sectional meet. Jacob had a very successful State meet, and repeated great swims at sectionals. Jacob dropped –3.33 seconds in the 100 fly, –1.51 seconds in the 100 back, and –7.64 seconds in the 200 IM.

Hannah Robison attended her first sectional meet. Hannah was entered in the 50 free and dropped –0.43 seconds just missing the sectional cut. She time trailed the 100 free and dropped –1.47 seconds for two personal best times.

Evan White attended his second sectional meet swimming in the 50 free, making the 100 free cut at the state meet gave him a second event, and time trailed the 100 fly dropping –1.56.
